He has rebounded emphatically to stop four of his last five opponents to surge into contention.
The 41-year-old Brazilian bounced back from a loss to Corey Anderson by submitting Karl Roberson inside a round.
Teixeira then tapped out Ion Cutelaba in the second round before earning a split decision win over Nikita Krylov.
He dominated and brutalised Anthony Smith in May of last year before finally stopping him in the fifth, and then capped off 2020 by submitting Thiago Santos.
Teixeira now has a professional MMA record of 32-7 with 18 wins coming by knockout and nine via submission.
The veteran Brazilian has been stopped with strikes three times, with his other four losses by decision.
