The Generals opened the season against the defending champions, Birmingham, and fell to a 27-10 defeat.
They rebounded quickly though, winning back-to-back games to quickly climb above .500.

Philadelphia appear to be in freefall, having followed up an opening day win with three consecutive defeats.
The Stars made it all the way to the USFL Championship Game last season and were considered contenders coming into 2023.
They got off to a solid start as they beat newcomers Memphis, 27-23, in Week 1, but it has been all downhill since.
Philadelphia were beaten 24-10 by Michigan a week later, and then suffered a 21-13 defeat at the hands of Pittsburgh.
Worse was still to come for the Stars, as they were blown out 41-16 by Houston last weekend to fall to 1-3.
