St Louis go into their penultimate game of the regular season having already secured their playoff place with a 6-2 record.
The Battlehawks lost their season-opener in Michigan, 18-16, but they have been almost flawless since then.
They beat Arlington 27-24 in their home opener, and backed it up with a 31-24 victory in San Antonio, before returning home to down Memphis 32-17.
St Louis then won 45-12 in DC, and took their win streak to five games with a 22-8 victory when they hosted Houston.
The Battlehawks’ run was finally ended by a 30-26 defeat in Birmingham, but they issued an immediate response last weekend as they downed DC at home, 26-21.
Arlington Renegades Form
Arlington enter their final home game of the season having already been eliminated from the playoffs with a 1-6 record.
The Renegades, who won the XFL Championship last season, have endured a miserable first campaign in the UFL.
They were beaten 27-14 by Birmingham in a season-opening battle of spring football champions, and that was followed by a 27-24 loss in St Louis, a 29-28 defeat to DC and a 17-9 loss in Houston.
Arlington then fell 25-15 to San Antonio and 28-27 at Michigan, before finally getting off the mark with a 47-23 success against Memphis.
The Renegades’ joy was short-lived though, as they were brought back down to Earth by a 20-15 defeat in San Antonio last weekend.
Verdict
St Louis may have a playoff place secured, but home field advantage is still not secure.
That should give the Battlehawks all the motivation they need against the worst team in the UFL.
