San Antonio head back to the Dome having surrendered top spot in the XFL Conference with their Week 10 defeat.
The Brahmas made a strong start to the season as they won four of their first six games, starting with a 27-12 win over DC and a 20-19 victory at Memphis.
They then bounced back from a 31-24 defeat to St Louis with a 19-9 victory over Michigan and a 25-15 win at Arlington, before losing 18-12 at DC.
San Antonio responded to that loss to the Defenders with a three-game win streak that saw them beat Houston 15-12 on the road, before returning home to down Arlington 20-15 and Birmingham 18-9.
The Brahmas missed out on top spot in the division though, as they were beaten 13-12 in St Louis in Week 10.
St Louis Battlehawks Form
St Louis head into the XFL Conference Championship Game having secured home field advantage with their Week 10 win.
The Battlehawks opened up the season with an 18-16 defeat at Michigan, but they responded with a five-game win streak that started with a 27-24 victory over Arlington.
They then won 31-24 at San Antonio, 32-17 against Memphis, 45-12 in DC and 22-8 at home to Houston.
St Louis’ streak was halted by a 30-26 loss in Birmingham, only for them to hit back immediately with a 26-21 victory over DC.
The Battlehawks failed to back that up as they were beaten 36-22 in Arlington, but they did rebound to steal home advantage for this playoff clash by beating San Antonio 13-12 last weekend.
Verdict
San Antonio are walking into the lion’s den on Sunday, but we are not expecting them to get torn apart.
