San Antonio Brahmas at Houston Roughnecks Preview & Picks
San Antonio are tipped to bounce back from last week’s loss.
Houston are having real problems putting points on the board and this Brahmas defense is capable of shutting them down.
- San Antonio Brahmas are 4-2 so far this season
- Houston Roughnecks have a 1-5 record after 6 weeks
- The Under has cashed in 5 of San Antonio’s first 6 games
- Houston Roughnecks have averaged just 11.3 points per game in the last 3 weeks
Head To Head
- This is the first meeting between the two teams
San Antonio Brahmas Form
San Antonio head to Houston looking to bounce back from a defeat that left them with a 4-2 record.
The Brahmas made a successful start to the season as they won their first two games, starting with a 27-12 win at home to the DC Defenders.
They then staged a last-gasp fightback to win 20-19 in Memphis, before finally suffering their first defeat a week later.
San Antonio were beaten 31-24 at home by St Louis, but they issued an immediate response as they downed Michigan 19-9.
The Brahmas backed that up a week later with a 25-15 victory in Arlington, only to then lose 18-12 at the DC Defenders in a rematch from Week 1.
Houston Roughnecks Form
Houston enter this matchup in desperate need of a victory, having lost five of their first six games of the season.
The Roughnecks opened up with an 18-12 defeat to Memphis, and there has been little joy for them since then.
They were beaten 23-18 at the DC Defenders a week later, before falling to 0-3 with a 34-20 defeat at Michigan.
Houston finally got off the mark in Week 4 as they beat Arlington 17-9 at home, but their joy was short-lived.
The Roughnecks were blown out by Birmingham a week later, losing 32-9 at home, and that was followed by a 22-8 defeat in St Louis.
Verdict
Both teams lost last week, but San Antonio appear the more capable of issuing an immediate response.
The Brahmas defense is unlikely to have many problems shutting down this bad Houston offense.
