Michigan go into the new campaign looking to make another challenge for the UFL Championship.
The Panthers were on of the premier teams during the inaugural season of the United Football League.
They made a mixed start by splitting their first four games, only to roar into life with a five-game win streak that helped them to a 7-3 record and a place in the postseason.
Michigan’s quest for glory ultimately ended in disappointment though, as they were beaten in the USFL Conference Championship.
The Panthers were beaten 31-18 by Birmingham, who went on to win their third consecutive spring football championship.
Memphis Showboats Form
Memphis enter the new season looking to improve on a rough debut campaign in the UFL that saw them beat only one team and win just two games all year.
The Showboats kicked off the season with an 18-12 victory at Houston, but it was all downhill from there.
They lost eight consecutive games before finally stopping the rot in the final game of the regular season.
Memphis finished the campaign just like they started it, beating Houston in another low-scoring game that finished 19-12.
The Showboats will look to fare better this time around, but their preparations suffered a stunning setback this week when head coach Ken Whisenhut quit on the eve of the new season.
