Memphis head to Detroit in desperate need of a victory, having lost their first three games of the season.
The Showboats went just 2-8 in 2024, so it is no real surprise to see them struggling at this early stage in the season.
They opened up the campaign at home to Michigan and suffered a 26-12 defeat at the hands of the Panthers.
Memphis then travelled to the nation’s capital, and despite an improved display defensively they were beaten 17-12 by the DC Defenders.
The Panthers held Houston under 20 points too, but that was not enough to prevent them from suffering a third defeat of the season, as they were beaten 18-17 last week.

Michigan go into their third straight home game having rebounded from a defeat to improve to 2-1.
The Panthers made it to the postseason a year ago, and entered the new campaign as one of the leading contenders to make the playoffs once again.
They got off to a strong start as they visited Memphis and took down the Showboats in their season-opener, 26-12.
Michigan failed to back that up in their home opener as they were beaten 21-12 by defending champions Birmingham, but they issued an immediate response.
The Panthers played host to San Antonio last weekend and ran out 26-23 winners against the Brahmas.

One of these teams has playoff ambitions, while the other is struggling for the second season in a row.
