Birmingham go into their penultimate regular season game with a perfect 8-0 record and with a playoff place already wrapped up.
The Stallions, who won back-to-back USFL champions before the merger, opened the season by beating XFL champions, the Arlington Renegades, 27-14 on the road.
They then won 20-13 at Michigan, before returning home to beat Memphis 33-14 and DC 20-18.
Birmingham’s streak continued with a 32-9 blowout of Houston and a 39-21 rout of Memphis, setting them up for a game many felt was a dress rehearsal for the championship game.
The Stallions won that matchup, beating St Louis 30-26, and they backed that up last weekend with a 35-28 victory over Houston.
San Antonio Brahmas Form
San Antonio enter this game with a playoff place secure thanks to 6-2 record, but they are still in a fight for home field advantage.
The Brahmas made a solid start to the season as they beat DC 27-12 in their home opener, before staging a late fightback to snatch a 20-19 victory in Memphis.
They failed to make it three-in-a-row as they were beaten 31-24 at home by St Louis, although they rebounded quickly to beat Michigan 19-9 and win 25-15 in Arlington.
San Antonio again failed to string together three consecutive wins, losing 18-12 at DC, but they did respond swiftly.
The Brahmas won 15-12 in Houston, before making it back-to-back victories as they downed Arlington at home, 20-15.
Verdict
Birmingham continue to boast the UFL’s best record, but they have failed to cover multiple times.
