Arlington head out on the road for the first time looking to bounce back from a season-opening defeat.
The Renegades produced a stunning late surge a year ago to make it to the XFL Championship Game despite posting a losing record in the regular season.
They then completed a sensational run by recording a 35-26 upset win over a DC Defenders team that had dominated during the regular season.
Arlington were paired with Birmingham in Week 1 of the 2024 UFL season, meaning the XFL and USFL champions would go head-to-head.
The Renegades failed to pick up from where they left off though, as they were beaten 27-14 by the Stallions.
St Louis Battlehawks Form
St Louis go into their home opener also aiming to issue an immediate response to a season-opening defeat.
The Battlehawks posted the third best record in the XFL a year ago, but missed out on the playoffs despite the 7-3 finish.
They lost the head-to-head with Seattle in the North Division, but unlike the Sea Dragons they survived the merger with the USFL.
St Louis came into the season with high hopes, and appeared to be closing in on a 16-15 win at Michigan when AJ McCarron hit Marcell Ateman for a touchdown with just 49 seconds to go.
However, Battlehawks hearts were broken in sensational fashion when a 64-yard field goal, as time expired, condemned them to an 18-16 defeat.
Verdict
Last weekend’s loss was a heart-breaker for St Louis, but we expect them to bounce back.
It is only a matter of time before this Battlehawks offense clicks, and that could happen in front of a big, noisy crowd at the Dome.
