Winnipeg Jets at Pittsburgh Penguins Preview & Picks

Can Winnipeg continue their strong start to the season with a road win?

Check back here on Friday morning for our free Winnipeg Jets at Pittsburgh Penguins tips.

Head To Head

  • Pittsburgh Penguins lead the all-time series 53-16-3
  • Winnipeg Jets won 6-3 when the two teams last met on October 20

Winnipeg Jets Form

Winnipeg head to Pittsburgh looking to build on a win over the defending champions that improved their record to 16-3.

The Jets raced out of the blocks with an eight-game win streak that was finally ended by a 6-4 defeat at home to Toronto.

They bounced back immediately and did it in emphatic fashion too, sparking a seven-game winning run with a 6-2 victory in Detroit.

Winnipeg’s second streak of the season was ended by a 4-0 defeat at Tampa Bay, and they then lost the first half of a double-header with Florida, 5-0, on the road.

The Jets won the second meeting however, beating last season’s Stanley Cup winners 6-3 on Tuesday night.

Pittsburgh Penguins Form

Pittsburgh go into this game on the back of their fourth defeat in five games, which dropped them to 7-10-4.

The Penguins made a decent start to the season as they won three of their first five games, but their form then collapsed completely as they lost seven straight.

They ended October on a positive note with a 2-1 overtime win over Anaheim, and backed that up with a 3-1 victory against Montreal.

Pittsburgh failed to maintain that momentum though, as they then went on to lose five of their next six games.

The Penguins’ rough run included a three-game losing skid that was ended by a shootout win over San Jose, but they failed to build on that victory as they were beaten 3-2 by Tampa By in overtime.
