Vegas Golden Knights at Minnesota Wild Preview & Picks

Vegas are tipped to bounce back from the Game 2 defeat.

The Golden Knights were blown out on the home ice, but they have largely dominated the Wild this season and their recent record at Minnesota makes for promising reading.

  • Vegas Golden Knights are 9-2 in the previous 11 meetings
  • Vegas Golden Knights are 4-0 in their last 4 visits to Minnesota
  • Vegas Golden Knights are 6-2 in their previous 8 road games
  • The last 3 meetings have produced over 5.5 total goals

Head To Head

  • Vegas Golden Knights lead the all-time series 20-16-1
  • Minnesota Wild won 5-2 when the two teams last met on April 22

Vegas Golden Knights Form

Vegas head out on the road for the first time in this series having suffered a surprise home defeat in Game 2.

The Golden Knights swept Minnesota in the regular season and continued that form in the playoff opener as they won 4-2.

They failed to back that up though, as they fell to a 5-2 home defeat at the hands of the Wild on Tuesday.

Vegas secured another postseason berth by finishing atop the Pacific Division with a 50-22-10 regular-season record.

The Golden Knights have made the playoffs in seven of their eight seasons since entering the league, and they will be eager to avoid a repeat of last year’s first round exit.

Minnesota Wild Form

Minnesota return home in a good position, having managed to win one of the first two games on the road.

The Wild were swept by Vegas during the regular season, and suffered another defeat to the Golden Knights as they lost the playoff opener 4-2.

They offered an immediate response though, ending their ‘Sin City’ drought with a 5-2 victory in Game 2 to level the series at 1-1.

Minnesota booked their place in the playoffs by putting together a 45-30-7 record to finish fourth in the Central Division.

In doing so, they bounced back from a disappointing 2023/24 campaign that saw their run of four straight postseason appearances come to an end.

Verdict

Vegas blew home ice advantage in Game 2, but we are sticking by the Golden Knights.

They have pretty much had Minnesota’s number all season, including multiple wins on the road, so we expect to see an immediate response.
