Sweden Form

Sweden go into their final game of the group stage knowing that they are already out of the NHL 4 Nations Face Off.

The Swedes put up a fight in their tournament opener against Canada and even came back from two goals down in the final period to force overtime.

However, they then gave up the decisive goal in the extra period to lose 4-3, and that was followed by another overtime loss over the weekend.

This time it was Sweden who threw away a lead, as they were beaten 4-3 by bitter rivals Finland, ending their hopes of making it to the championship game.

USA Form

The USA enter their final group matchup already knowing that they will be playing for the championship on Thursday.

The Americans fell behind early in their opener against Finland, and although they turned it around over the next two periods they held a slender lead heading into the final stanza.

They scored two quickfire goals in the final period though, and then went on to score two more to complete a 6-1 rout of the Finns.

The USA then booked their place in the final with a 3-1 victory over rivals Canada in Montreal on Saturday night.

The USA do not need this, but this will be their first game of the tournament on home ice.

They will be determined to put on a show and we expect them to power past a Sweden team who are already out of the tournament after a couple of overtime losses.
