Florida Panthers at Washington Capitals Preview & Picks

Who will come out on top when these two division leaders go head-to-head?

Check back here on Tuesday morning for our free Florida Panthers at Washington Capitals tips.

Head To Head

  • Washington Capitals lead the all-time series 70-51-23
  • Washington Capitals won 4-1 when the two teams last met on November 25

Florida Panthers Form

Florida head to the nations’ capital on their best run of form since December, having now won each of their last three games.

The Panthers ended a several-week wait for back-to-back victories when they won consecutive meetings with Anaheim last month, 3-0 at home and 5-2 on the road.

They failed to make it three-in-a-row as they lost 2-1 in Los Angeles, only to bounce back immediately with a 7-2 victory in San Jose.

Florida were unable to back that up as they then lost 4-1 Vegas, but they again responded swiftly to a defeat.

The Panthers returned home to shut out Los Angeles in a 3-0 win, and followed that up with a 5-1 blowout of Chicago and a 6-3 success against the New York Islanders.

Washington Capitals Form

Washington go into this matchup looking to get back on track after suffering three defeats in their last four games.

The Capitals enjoyed a season-best run in January as they reeled off six consecutive victories.

That run was ended by a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Vancouver, and although they rebounded in their next game to win 3-1 in Calgary, they have cooled off.

Washington returned to losing ways as they completed their five-game road trip with a 5-4 overtime defeat in Ottawa.

The Wizards then headed back home and suffered another 5-4 defeat in overtime, this time losing to Winnipeg.
