Edmonton Oilers at Florida Panthers Preview & Picks

Who will win this rematch of last season’s Stanley Cup Finals?

Check back here on Thursday morning for our free Edmonton Oilers at Florida Panthers tips.

Head To Head

  • Edmonton Oilers lead the all-time series 26-21-3
  • Florida Panthers won 6-5 when the two teams last met on December 16

Edmonton Oilers Form

Edmonton go into this matchup in desperate need of a win, having lost six of their last eight games and each of the last four.

The Oilers enjoyed a three-game win streak in late January, but cooled off at the end of the month.

They ended January with a shootout loss to Detroit, and then fell to a 4-3 defeat to Toronto before rallying with overtime wins at St Louis, 3-2, and Chicago, 4-3.

Edmonton failed to keep that run going before the mid-season break though, as they were beaten 5-4 at home by Colorado, and that losing skid has continued since their return.

The Oilers have played three straight road games, losing 6-3 to Philadelphia, 7-3 to Washington and 4-1 to Tampa Bay.

Florida Panthers Form

Florida enter this game looking to build on Tuesday’s win in Nashville and register their seventh win in nine games.

The Panthers began this solid run with three consecutive home wins, beating Los Angeles 3-0, Chicago 5-1 and the New York Islanders 6-3.

They failed to make it four-in-a-row as they lost 6-3 in Washington, but they did bounce back to go into the mid-season break on a high.

Florida first beat St Louis 3-2 on the road, and then returned home to take down Ottawa, 5-1.

The Panthers lost their first game back after the NHL 4 Nations Face off, falling 2-1 to Seattle, only to issue a swift response by beating Nashville 4-1 on the road.
