Detroit Red Wings at Toronto Maple Leafs Preview & Picks

Can Toronto follow up on Tuesday night’s win over Boston?

Check back here on Friday morning for our free Detroit Red Wings at Toronto Maple Leafs tips.

Head To Head

  • Toronto Maple Leafs the lead the all-time series 358-343-99
  • Detroit Red Wings won 5-4 when the two teams last met on April 13

Detroit Red Wings Form

Detroit head to Toronto having won their previous two games to improve their record to 6-5-1.

The Red Wings lost three of their first four games, but rallied in the middle of October with a three-game win streak.

That run was halted by a 5-3 defeat in Buffalo, and they then returned home to lose 3-2 to Edmonton in overtime and 6-2 to Winnipeg in regulation.

Detroit avoided a fourth straight defeat last weekend as they downed Buffalo at home 2-1.

The Red Wings then followed that up on the road on Wednesday night, as they headed to Chicago to beat the Blackhawks 4-1.

Toronto Maple Leafs Form

Toronto go into this game looking to back up Tuesday night’s win over Boston that improved their record to 7-5-2.

The Maple Leafs rebounded from an opening-night loss with a three-game win streak, only to cool off with three defeats in a four-game spell.

They avoided a fourth straight loss as they beat Winnipeg on the road, 6-4, and they backed that up at home as they took down Seattle 4-1.

Toronto were unable to make it three-in-a-row as they lost 4-2 in St Louis, and they then fell to a 2-1 overtime defeat at Minnesota.

The Maple Leafs did get back to winning ways on Tuesday though, as they beat the Bruins at home, 4-0.
