The Red Wings struggled through the first half of November as they won just twice in a seven-game spell.
They were beaten 2-0 by Florida, and then failed to back up a 5-4 victory over Boston as they lost 5-3 to the New York Rangers and 3-2 in overtime to Montreal.
Detroit stopped the rot briefly with a 5-4 win over Columbus, but again they failed to follow up a win as they lost 5-4 in overtime in Ottawa and 3-2 at home to Toronto.
The Red Wings enjoyed a turnaround last week though, as they beat New Jersey 4-0, Boston 5-2 and Minnesota 4-1.
New York Rangers Form
New York come into this game on the back of a loss but in solid form thanks to seven wins in their last nine games.
The Rangers bounced back from a loss to Minnesota with a 5-3 victory over Detroit, and backed that up with a 4-1 win over Minnesota and a shootout victory against Columbus.
They took their streak to four games with a 5-3 win at New Jersey, only to see it end with a 6-3 defeat in Dallas.
New York bounced back quickly though, beating Pittsburgh 1-0, and they followed that up with a 3-1 win in Philadelphia and a 7-4 victory against Boston.
The Rangers failed to make it four-in-a-row though, as they were beaten 5-1 at home by Buffalo.
Verdict
New York are on a good run of form and have home advantage, so we expect the Rangers to end Detroit's winning run.
