Colorado Avalanche at Carolina Hurricanes Preview & Picks

Can Carolina end a three-game losing skid?

Check back here on Thursday morning for our free Colorado Avalanche at Carolina Hurricanes tips.

Head To Head

  • Colorado Avalanche lead the all-time series 85-55-24
  • Colorado Avalanche won 6-4 when the two teams last met on November 9

Colorado Avalanche Form

Colorado head to Carolina looking to build some momentum after winning for only the second time in their last five games.

The Avalanche enjoyed a solid run of form during the middle of November as they won six times in a seven-game spell.

That run featured two three-game win streaks, but they have struggled to get back on track since the 8-2 loss at Tampa Bay ended the second winning run.

Colorado rebounded with a shootout victory over Vegas, only to then lose 5-3 in Dallas and 4-1 at home to Edmonton.

The Avalanche avoided a third straight defeat though, as they edged Buffalo in a nine-goal thriller, 5-4.

Carolina Hurricanes Form

Carolina go into this matchup having now lost each of their last three games to see their record slip to 16-8-1.

The Hurricanes opened the season with a superb run of form as they rebounded from an opening-day defeat to win 14 of their first 18 games.

They have cooled off since though, starting with back-to-back defeats as they lost 4-2 in New Jersey and via a shootout at Columbus.

Carolina rallied with a couple of home wins, beating Dallas 6-3 and the New York Rangers 4-3, but they were unable to keep that run going.

The Hurricanes lost back-to-back meetings with Florida, 6-3 at home and 6-0 on the road, before losing 4-2 at home to Seattle.
