  • Carolina Hurricanes won 6-4 when the two teams last met on November 25

Carolina Hurricanes Form

Carolina went into Monday night’s game in Carolina looking to back up the win over Vegas.

The Hurricanes ended 2024 with a defeat, and made a mixed start to 2025 as they went 2-2 in their first four games of the year.

They rallied with back-to-back wins, beating Toronto 6-3 and Vancouver 2-0 at home, but they were unable to keep that run going.

Carolina were beaten 3-2 in overtime when they hosted Anaheim, and then went out on the road for a 4-2 defeat in Buffalo.

The Hurricanes were able to avoid a third straight defeat though, as they downed Vegas 3-2 at home last Friday night.

Dallas Stars Form

Dallas go into this matchup looking to back up a win, having won for only the second time in five games last time out.

The Stars ended 2024 with back-to-back wins, and kept that winning run going in the early stages of 2025.

They started the year with a 4-2 win over Ottawa, and then beat Utah 3-2, New York Rangers 5-4, Philadelphia 4-1 and Montreal 2-1 as part of a seven-game tear.

Dallas’ run was finally ended by a 3-2 loss in Ottawa, and they then failed to back up a 4-1 victory in Toronto as they lost 3-1 to Montreal and 6-3 to Colorado.

The Stars avoided a third consecutive loss however, as they downed Detroit at home, 4-1, over the weekend.
