Canada Form

Canada go into the final seeking revenge for their only defeat in the group stage of the NHL 4 Nations Face Off.

The Canadians opened the tournament with a victory, but they were made to work for a 4-3 victory over Sweden.

They blew a two-goal lead in the final period and had to go to overtime with the Swedes, before finally sealing a 4-3 victory.

Canada failed to follow that up as they then lost 3-1 to the United States on home ice, but they rebounded on Monday to book their place in the Championship Game.

The Canadians had to fend off Finland though, allowing three straight goals in the final period before finally wrapping up a 5-3 win.

USA Form

The USA go into this game on the back of a loss, but having already beaten Canada in the NHL 4 Nations Face Off.

The Americans made a slow start to the tournament as they fell behind early against Finland, but they rebounded quickly and ultimately ran out 6-1 winners.

They then booked their place in the Championship Game in the best possible fashion, and with a game to spare.

The United States took down Canada in ‘enemy territory’, running out 3-1 winners in Montreal.

That rendered Monday’s meeting with Sweden a ‘dead rubber’, and the Americans concluded the group stage with a 2-1 defeat.
