New York go into this matchup having lost six consecutive games to leave themselves at 2-9 and head coach Brian Daboll on the hot seat.
The Giants opened with back-to-back losses, but showed some signs of life as they then won two of the next three.
They beat Cleveland 21-15 on the road, and then bounced back from a 20-15 home defeat to Dallas with another road win, this time a 29-20 success in Seattle.
New York failed to follow that up though, losing 17-7 at home to Cincinnati, and that proved to be the start of this six-game skid.
The Giants made a change at quarterback in the desperate hope of kick-starting their season, but they decision did not pay off as they lost 30-7 to Tampa Bay last weekend.
Dallas Cowboys Form
Dallas return home looking to follow up on last weekend’s surprise win at division rivals Washington, which improved their record to 4-7.
The Cowboys came into the season with plenty of hype, as usual, and they got off to a winning start as they beat Cleveland 33-17.
A week later they suffered an embarrassing 44-19 home defeat to New Orleans, and that was followed by a 28-25 defeat to Baltimore.
Dallas briefly steadied the ship with back-to-back wins, only to then go on a five-game losing skid that put their playoff hopes in major jeopardy.
The Cowboys kept themselves in the hunt last weekend, as they went out on the road to stun division rivals Washington, 34-26.
Verdict
Dallas are yet to win at home this season, but we expect that to change on Thursday.
The Cowboys come into this game on the back of a morale-boosting win, while the Giants continue to lurch from one disappointment to the next.
