Minnesota Vikings Form
Minnesota go into this huge NFC North showdown riding a nine-game win streak that has left them locked at 14-2 alongside Detroit.
The Vikings raced out of the blocks with five straight wins, including victories over three teams expected to contend for the Super Bowl, San Francisco, Houston and Green Bay.
That run was finally ended by a 31-29 defeat when they hosted Detroit, and that was followed by a 30-20 loss when they visited the Los Angeles Rams.
Minnesota have not lost since though, with the 21-13 victory over Indianapolis proving to be the start of a nine-game streak.
The Vikings’ most recent win was the 27-25 victory over Green Bay that has given them the chance to snatch the NFC North title away from Detroit in this game.
Detroit Lions Form
Detroit enter this matchup knowing that one more win will clinch the NFC North title and home field advantage for the playoffs.
The Lions stumbled early in the regular season as they lost 20-16 at home to Tampa Bay in Week 2.
They came roaring back though to win their next 11 games, a run that included by road wins over division rivals Minnesota, 31-29, and Green Bay, 24-14.
Detroit also beat Green Bay 34-31 at home during that sequence, which was finally ended by the 48-42 loss to Buffalo on December 15.
The Lions have roared back since that loss though, heading out on the road to down Chicago, 34-17, and San Francisco, 40-34.
Verdict
Minnesota remain the most underrated team in the league, but we have to lean towards Detroit.
The Lions would run through a brick wall for Dan Campbell and they have home field advantage for this winner-takes-all clash.
