Denver Broncos at New Orleans Saints Preview & Picks

Denver are tipped to cover as they win on the road on Thursday night.

The Broncos are 2-1 on the road and rookie QB Bo Nix is getting plenty of help from the defense.

New Orleans have a horrible recent Thursday night record too, so give us the visitors here.

  • Denver Broncos are 4-2-0 ATS this season
  • Denver Broncos are 3-0-0 ATS on the road this season
  • New Orleans Saints are 0-5-0 ATS in their last 5 Thursday home games
  • The Under has cashed in 2 of Denver’s 3 road games so far

Head To Head

  • Denver Broncos lead the all-time series 9-3
  • New Orleans Saints won 31-3 when the two teams last met in November 2020

Denver Broncos Form

Denver go into this game on the back of a loss, but having won three of their last four games to improve to 3-3.

The Broncos kicked off the season with back-to-back defeats, losing 26-20 in Seattle and 13-6 defeat at home to Pittsburgh, but turned things around in late September.

They sparked that improved form when they travelled to Tampa Bay to pull off a surprising 26-7 win over the Buccaneers.

Denver backed that up a week later as they beat the New York Jets, 10-9, and they then registered their first home win of the season as they beat Las Vegas 34-18.

The Broncos failed to make it four wins in a row though, as they lost 23-16 to division rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, last Sunday.

New Orleans Saints Form

New Orleans go into this short week in miserable form, having now lost four straight games to fall to 2-4.

The Saints made a flying start to the season as they won their first two games, starting with a 47-10 blowout of division rivals Carolina.

They followed that up a week later with a sensational 44-19 demolition of Dallas at AT&T Stadium, but their form has nose-dived since then.

New Orleans first lost 15-12 at home to Philadelphia, before heading out on the road to lose 26-24 in Atlanta and 26-13 in Kansas City.

The Saints then lost starting QB Derek Carr due to injury, and his replacement, Spencer Rattler, endured a baptism of fire as the team were beaten 51-27 at home by Tampa Bay.

Verdict

Denver may be out on the road on a short week, but we like their chances of getting the job done.

That stingy defense gives up very little and they now get to face an inexperienced backup QB who endured a rough debut last weekend.
