Dallas are looking to avenge last season’s playoff defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.
The Cowboys compiled a 12-5 regular season record that secured second place in the NFC East behind Philadelphia.
They went 6-3 after the bye as their form cooled off a little from the first half of the season.
That sequence started with a 31-28 overtime defeat at Green Bay, but they hit back in emphatic fashion with a 40-3 blowout of Minnesota on the road.
Dallas then built on that with a series home wins, beating the New York Giants 28-20, Indianapolis 54-19 and Houston 27-23.
Their streak was halted by a 40-34 overtime loss at Jacksonville, but they again issued an impressive response to a loss, this time beating division rivals 40-34 at home.
The Cowboys followed that up a week later with a 27-13 win at Tennessee, only to then lose their regular season finale at Washington, 26-6.
Dallas put that firmly behind them on Super Wildcard Weekend though, cruising to a 31-14 win at Tampa Bay.

San Francisco are the NFL’s form team heading into this matchup, riding an 11-game win streak.
The 49ers faltered early as they went 3-4 through the first seven weeks, but a 31-14 win at the Los Angeles Rams before the bye sparked a surge in form.
They returned to action with a 22-16 win against the Los Angeles Chargers, and then ran out 38-10 winners on the road at Arizona.
San Francisco then reeled off three consecutive wins at home, beating New Orleans 13-0, Miami 33-17 and Tampa Bay 35-7.
The 49ers were forced to turn to a third-string rookie QB during that victory against the Dolphins, but with Brock Purdy at the controls they have shown no signs of slowing down.
The wins kept coming as they beat Seattle 21-13 on the road, and they then returned home to beat Washington 37-20.
The Niners were made to work for a 37-34 overtime win at Las Vegas in their penultimate regular season game, but their Week 18 outing was much more straightforward.
They beat Arizona 48-13 at home, setting up a Super Wildcard Weekend meeting with Seattle.
San Francisco trailed at half time in that one, but outscored the Seahawks 25-6 in the second half as they stormed to a 41-23 victory.
