Wisconsin vs LSU Preview & Picks

LSU are tipped to cover as the win the ReliaQuest Bowl.

The Tigers could be without QB Jayden Daniels and some other opt-outs for this, but this offense is stacked with talent and is likely to set a scoring pace that Wisconsin cannot match.

  • LSU are 6-1-0 ATS in their last 7 games
  • Wisconsin are 1-3-0 ATS in their last 4 games
  • LSU have out-scored Wisconsin by 21.3 points per game
  • The Over has cashed in 11 of LSU’s 12 games this season

Head To Head

  • LSU lead the all-time series 3-1
  • Wisconsin won 16-14 when the two teams last met in September 2016

Wisconsin Form

Wisconsin come into this game having won their final two regular season matchups to finish 7-5.

The Badgers started the season as a ranked team, but a 31-22 defeat at Washington State in early September cost them that spot, and they never got back in mix.

They suffered a rough run between mid-October and mid-November as they lost five times in a six-game spell.

That sequence included a four-game losing skid for Wisconsin that featured a 24-10 defeat at the hands of #3 Ohio State.

The Badgers were able to finish the regular season on a high though, following up a 24-17 win over Nebraska with a 28-14 victory at Minnesota.

LSU Form

LSU enter this matchup riding a three-game win streak that secured a 9-3 regular season record.

The Tigers opened the season with a 45-24 defeat to #8 Florida State, but they bounced back by winning three straight games against non-ranked teams.

Their run was halted by a 55-49 defeat at #20 Ole Miss, although the rebounded the very next week to knock off #21 Missouri on the road, 49-39.

That victory started a run of six wins in LSU’s final seven regular season games, with the only defeat coming to #8 Alabama, 42-28.

LSU bounced back from that loss with three consecutive wins, beating Florida 52-35, Georgia State 56-14 and Texas A&M 42-30 to close out the regular season.

Verdict

LSU could have a number of players missing due to opt-outs, but this is still a talented team.

That offense will still boast weapons and this Wisconsin team lacks the firepower to keep up with them.
