Texas at Texas A&M Preview & Picks

Texas are backed to cover as they win this rivalry matchup and secure their place in the SEC Championship Game.

This Longhorns defense has not given up many points this season, while the offense has taken good care of the football.

  • Texas A&M are 3-8-0 ATS this season
  • Texas are 3-1 in the last 4 meetings with Texas A&M
  • The Under has cashed in 5 of Texas’ last 7 games (1 push)

Head To Head

  • Texas lead the all-time series 61-33-3
  • Texas won 27-25 when the two teams last met in November 2011

Texas Form

Texas go into this massive matchup riding a four-game win streak that has left them just one more win away from the SEC Championship Game.

The Longhorns opened the season with a string of blowout victories, including a 31-12 win at defending national champions Michigan.

By the middle of October they boasted a perfect 6-0 record, but they were unable to maintain that flawless standard as they were beaten 30-15 by Georgia.

Texas rallied a week later though as they went out on the road to beat Vanderbilt 27-24, and they backed that up with a 49-17 demolition of Florida.

The Longhorns then beat Arkansas 20-10 on the road, before improving to 10-1 with a 31-14 victory against Kentucky.

Texas A&M Form

Texas A&M enter this game having lost two of their last three outings to leave their SEC Championship Game hopes hanging by a thread.

The Aggies opened the season with a 23-13 loss to Notre Dame, but rallied quickly and won their first five conference games.

That win streak included two victories over top 10 teams, as they blew out Missouri 41-10 before beating LSU 38-23.

Texas A&M’s run was halted at the start of November, as they were beaten 44-20 at South Carolina.

The Aggies rebounded with a 38-3 non-conference win over New Mexico State, only to lose 43-41 at conference rivals Auburn last weekend.

Verdict

Texas’ recent cover record is underwhelming, but they are still winning comfortably.

The defense is dominating and the offense is avoiding back-breaking errors, so we expect the Longhorns to take this.
