They then suffered a shock 19-14 defeat in Arkansas, only to rebound with a four-game win streak that included a 24-17 success when they hosted Alabama.
Tennessee’s run was halted by a 31-17 defeat when they visited Georgia, but they bounced back over their final two games to secure a playoff place.
The Volunteers shutout UTEP in a 56-0 victory at home, before heading out on the road to down Vanderbilt 36-23.

Ohio State missed out on the Big Ten Championship Game, but a 10-2 record was enough to earn them a place in the playoffs.
The Buckeyes opened with five consecutive blowout wins, with two of those victories coming in Big Ten.
That run was halted when they lost 32-31 to conference newcomers Oregon, but they rebounded over the next five games.
Ohio State downed fellow top-five teams Penn State, 20-23, and Indiana, 38-15, along the way, putting them on the brink of a conference championship appearance.
However, the Buckeyes missed out on the chance to play for the Big Ten crown, suffered a surprise 13-10 defeat when they hosted bitter rivals Michigan in the regular season finale.

Ohio State may be the favorites, but that loss to Michigan may have damaged them.
