The Panthers opened the season with a 45-7 demolition of Wofford, but that have managed only one win since then.
That opening day victory was followed by a 27-21 defeat to Cincinnati, a 17-6 loss at West Virginia, a 41-24 defeat to #17 North Carolina and a 38-21 loss at Virginia Tech.
Pittsburgh snapped that four-game skid with a stunning upset of #14 Louisiana, 38-21, but they were brought back down to Earth a week later.
The Panthers went back out on the road and suffered a 21-17 defeat at the hands of Wake Forest.

Notre Dame enter this matchup on the back of an impressive win against USC that propelled them to 6-2.
The Fighting Irish opened the season in Dublin, Ireland where they blew out Navy in a 42-3 win at the Aviva Stadium.
They followed that up with a 56-3 rout of Tennessee State in their home opener, before heading to NC State to win their road opener 45-25.
Notre Dame then beat Central Michigan 41-17, only to see their perfect start end when they blew a 14-point lead late on to lose 17-14 at home to #6 Ohio State.
The Fighting Irish rebounded to beat #17 Duke 21-14, only to then suffer a disappointing 33-20 defeat at #25 Louisville a week later.
They bounced back in sensational style last weekend though, shutting down Caleb Williams as they beat #10 USC, 48-20.
Verdict
Notre Dame’s response to that Louisville loss was a strong one, and we expect them to build on it.
The Fighting Irish have been strong at home this season and this Pittsburgh team is unlikely to pose much of a threat.
