The Cardinals opened the season with a six-game win streak that culminated with a shock 33-20 win at home to #10 Notre Dame.
They were brought back down to Earth a week later by a 38-21 defeat at Pitt, but when they returned to action they downed #20 Duke 23-0, sparking a four-game win streak.
Louisville blew out Virginia Tech 34-3 and beat Virginia 31-24 at home, before heading to Miami to fend off the Hurricanes in a 38-31 win.
The Cardinals’ streak was halted by a 38-31 loss to Kentucky, and that was followed by a 16-6 loss to Florida State in the conference championship.

USC come into this matchup having endured a rough end to the regular season, losing five of their final six games.
The Trojans won their first six games of the season as Caleb Williams and the offense hung at least 42 points on each of those opponents.
However, their momentum stalled as Williams threw a bunch of picks in a 48-20 blowout defeat at #21 Notre Dame.
USC then lost 34-42 to #14 Utah, before finally notching their seventh win of the season, edging California 50-49.
The Trojans were unable to back that up though, losing 52-42 to #5 Washington, 36-27 to #6 Oregon and 38-20 to UCLA to close out the regular season.
