Colorado vs BYU Preview & Picks

Colorado are tipped to cover as they wrap up the season with an Alamo Bowl win.

Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are set to play and that means the Buffaloes can set a scoring pace that BYU cannot keep up with.

  • Colorado are 8-2 this season
  • Colorado are 9-1-0 ATS in their last 10 games
  • BYU are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games
  • The Over cashed in 9 of BYU’s 12 regular season games

Head To Head

  • Colorado lead the all-time series 7-3-1
  • BYU won 20-17 when the two teams last met in December 1988

Colorado Form

Colorado put together a 10-2 record over the course of the season, but a couple of Big 12 defeats denied them a place in the championship game.

The Buffaloes went 2-1 in non-conference action, before starting their Big 12 campaign with a 38-31 win over Baylor and a 48-21 success at UCF.

They tripped up in the first half of October as they were beaten 31-28 by Kansas State, but they rebounded strongly to reel off four consecutive wins.

Colorado’s run propelled them into the rankings, only for their climb to stall when they were beaten 37-21 at Kansas.

That cost the Buffaloes a Big 12 berth, but they did wrap up the regular season with a victory, shutting out Oklahoma State in a 52-0 victory.

BYU Form

BYU also compiled a 10-2 record over the course of the season, with those two defeats in November ultimately costing them a Big 12 Championship berth.

The Cougars went 3-0 in non-conference action, before kicking off their Big 12 schedule with a 38-9 upset of Kansas State.

They followed that up with another five conference wins to put themselves firmly in the race for the championship game.

However, BYU’s surge was halted by a 17-13 defeat to Kansas, and they then suffered another major setback as they were beaten 28-23 at Arizona State.

The Cougars avoided a third straight loss with a 30-18 win over Houston, but that was not enough for them to make the Big 12 Championship.

Verdict

Deion Sanders expects his best talent to suit up for the Alamo Bowl, so we are riding with this incarnation of the Buffaloes one last time.

We expect Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter to put on a show as they only add to their draft stock.
