Purdue missed out on top spot in the Big Ten Conference as they lost two of their last three regular season games.
They fell to Michigan State and Wisconsin on the road, meaning a 69-67 win over Indiana did nothing more than seal a third-place finish.
The Boilermakers made it back-to-back wins when they beat Penn State 69-61 in their first outing in the conference championship tournament.
They then followed that up with a semi-final 75-70 win over Michigan State to avenge the recent defeat.
Purdue came up short in the final though, losing 75-66 to an Iowa team they beat twice during the regular season.
