Duke received byes through the first two rounds, only to crash out in the quarter-finals with a surprise 74-69 defeat to tonight’s opponents, NC State.
The Blue Devils finally rebounded at March Madness though, beating Vermont 64-47 and James Madison 93-55, before upsetting Houston in the Sweet 16 with a 54-51 victory.

NC State are riding a red-hot run of form into this Elite Eight matchup, having now won each of their last eight games.
The Wolfpack ended the regular season on a low note, losing their final four games, but their response in the ACC tournament was nothing short of spectacular.
They beat Louisville 94-85, Syracuse 83-65, Duke 74-69 and Virginia 73-65 (OT) to book their place in the final, where they stunned North Carolina, 84-76.
NC State’s streak has continued in March Madness too, starting with an 80-67 victory over Texas Tech and a 79-73 against Oakland.
The Wolfpack then took their streak to eight games with a big 67-58 upset of Marquette in the Sweet 16.
