Phoenix Suns Form
Phoenix regained control of this series with a big road win in Game 3 on Friday night.
The Suns took Game 1 in comfortable fashion as they ran 110-99 winners a week ago.
However, they fell to a 125-114 defeat in the second meeting and to make matters worse Devin Booker suffered an injury that sideline him for the rest of the series.
Phoenix responded to those setbacks however, earning a 114-111 road win in Game 3.
Deandre Ayton produced a monster performance in the paint as he recorded 28 points and 17 rebounds in a double double.
Chris Paul also stepped up big for the Suns, scoring 28 points and dishing out 14 assists in his own double double.
Mikal Bridges played a key role in the scoring too with 17 points, while JaVale McGee had 15 points off the bench.
New Orleans Pelicans Form
New Orleans once again find themselves behind in the series after losing their first home outing.
The Pelicans rebounded from a 110-99 loss in Game 1 to upset the Suns, 125-114, in Phoenix last Tuesday night.
They failed to build on that when they returned to the Smoothie King Center on Friday night though.
New Orleans suffered a 114-111 defeat to go 2-1 down in the series.
Brandon Ingram led the Pelicans with 34 points and seven rebounds in the loss, but he had just one shot during the final few minutes of the loss.
CJ McCollum put up 30 points and dished out seven assists, while Jonas Valanciunas registered 11 rebounds.
Devonte’ Graham was the only notable contributor off the bench, provided 12 points and five rebounds.
Verdict
Phoenix bullied New Orleans to regain their series lead.
Ayton and Paul proved they can cope without Booker, so we are backing the Suns to win again.
