The Timberwolves were in superb form during the first few months of the season, but they cooled off in the early stages of 2024.
They lost four of their first six games of the year, before steadying the ship with a four-game win streak.
Minnesota started that run at home, beating Portland 116-93 and the LA Clippers 109-105, before heading out on the road for a 124-117 victory in Detroit.
The Timberwolves made it four-in-a-row with a 118-103 home win against Memphis, but they have not won since, losing 102-97 to Oklahoma City and 128-125 to Charlotte.
Washington Wizards Form
Washington enter this matchup in terrible form, having lost four straight games and 19 of the last 11.
The Wizards ended 2023 with a 130-126 to Atlanta, and then began 2024 with back-to-back defeats in Cleveland, losing 140-101 and 114-90.
Their losing skid then reached six games as they were beaten 121-105 by New York, 136-128 by Oklahoma City and 112-104 in Indiana.
Washington snapped that losing sequence with a 127-99 victory in Atlanta, but they have not been able to build on that.
