Minnesota Timberwolves at Oklahoma City Thunder Preview & Picks

Oklahoma City are tipped to cover as they beat Minnesota for the second night in a row.

The Thunder have not tasted defeat at home since January 23, and can take advantage of a short-handed Timberwolves team who may have emptied the tank in last night’s meeting.

  • Oklahoma City Thunder are 17-1 in their last 18 home games
  • Oklahoma City Thunder are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 home games
  • Oklahoma City Thunder are 4-2-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings with Minnesota
  • The Over has cashed in 4 of Oklahoma City’s last 5 wins against Minnesota

Head To Head

  • Oklahoma City Thunder lead the all-time series 92-47
  • Oklahoma City Thunder won 133-125 when the two teams last met on February 23

Minnesota Timberwolves Form

Minnesota go into tonight’s game in Oklahoma City looking to rebound from last night’s loss to the Thunder.

That defeat was the Timberwolves fourth loss in their previous five outings; a sequence that began with the 128-107 defeat in Cleveland that ended a three-game winning run.

That loss to the Cavaliers was followed by a 103-101 defeat to Milwaukee, but they did go into the All-Star break on the back of a win.

Minnesota beat Oklahoma City 116-101 at home in that one, only to then return to action with a 121-115 defeat in Houston.

The Timberwolves then returned home over the weekend, only to lose 130-123 when they hosted Oklahoma City last night.

Oklahoma City Thunder Form

Oklahoma City enter this matchup on a strong run of form, having won nine of their 10 games since the start of February.

The Thunder ended January with a loss, but rallied at home as they beat Sacramento 144-110, Milwaukee 125-96, Phoenix 140-109 and Toronto 121-109.

They then travelled to Memphis to down the Grizzlies 125-112, before returning home to beat New Orleans 137-101 and Miami 115-101.

Oklahoma City failed to make it eight-in-a-row before the All-Star break as they lost 116-101 in Minnesota, but they have rebounded since the regular season resumed.

The Thunder returned with a 130-107 win in Utah, before heading to Minnesota to beat the Timberwolves 130-123 last night.

Verdict

Minnesota did a credible job against the Thunder last night, but we expect this to be a more one-sided affair.

The Timberwolves are short-handed and on the road for this one, so we are backing Oklahoma City for a straightforward success.
