Los Angeles have slipped out of the play-in places thanks to a miserable run of form since early January.
The Lakers have won just 10 of their last 35 games and in March they have so far gone 4-11.
They started last week in positive fashion with a surprise 131-120 victory in Cleveland, but were soon brought back down to Earth.
LA returned home to lose 126-121 to Philadelphia before heading back out on the road for this three-game trip.
They lost 116-108 in New Orleans and then suffered a blowout 128-110 defeat in Dallas on Tuesday night.
Malik Monk top-scored for Los Angeles in the defeat, putting up 28 points.
Russell Westbrook registered 24 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while Stanley Johnson put up 16 points.
The Lakers were, of course, without LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and both men are considered ‘day to day’ for this one.
Utah Jazz Form
Utah are on a five-game losing skid that is in danger of costing them a place in the playoffs.
The Jazz started their recent roadtrip in promising fashion as they won in New York to take their win streak to three games.
That run was halted 24 hours later though as they were beaten 114-106 in Brooklyn.
The loss was followed by a 125-97 blowout defeat in Charlotte, and the Jazz then lost 107-101 in Charlotte to see their sudden slump continue.
A miserable week ended with a 114-110 loss in Dallas, and Utah started this week with a 121-115 defeat at the Los Angeles Clippers.
Donovan Mitchell put up 33 points in the loss, while Mike Conley had 19 and Jordan Clarkson put up 17 off the bench.
Rudy Gobert grabbed 16 rebounds but struggled as a scorer. He went just 1/6 from the free throw line as he contributed only nine points.
Verdict
Utah are limping towards the playoffs, but at least they are set for a postseason appearance.
LA are scrapping just to make the play-in tournament and are unlikely to boost their chances here.
