The Rockets responded to a loss to Boston with a five-game win streak that included back-to-back wins over Memphis, 119-115 on the road and 120-118 at home.
That run was ended by a 132-127 loss in Sacramento, and although they rebounded to win 125-103 in Portland, they failed to follow it up as they were beaten 107-96 by Detroit.
Houston bounced back in style though, as they took down Cleveland 109-108 at home, and then went out on the road to down the Cavaliers 135-131.
The Rockets then won 114-112 at defending champions Boston, before heading to Atlanta to beat the Hawks 100-96.
Memphis Grizzlies Form
Memphis return home looking to bounce back from a defeat in New York that ended their six-game win streak.
The Grizzlies struggled for consistency during the first half of January, but back-to-back wins in San Antonio got them going.
The beat the Spurs 129-115 and 140-112 on the road, before returning home to beat Minnesota 108-106.
Memphis then produced two high-scoring performances to beat Charlotte 132-120 and New Orleans 139-16, before beating Utah 125-103.
The Grizzlies failed to make it seven-in-a-row though, as they suffered a 143-107 blowout defeat in New York on Monday night.
Verdict
These two teams have produced a couple of close encounters this season, and more of the same may be on the cards here.
With that in mind, we have to take the free points and a Rockets team who have repeatedly got the better of the Grizzlies in recent times and have been stacking up covers on the road.
