They then reeled off a string of home wins, beating Orlando 97-84, Phoenix 111-104, Dallas 133-96, Chicago 117-114 and Philadelphia 144-137 in overtime.
Houston took their win streak to nine games when they went out on the road to down Orlando 116-108 and Miami 102-98, before finally see the run end with a 116-111 home defeat to Denver.
The Rockets issued an immediate response however, beating Atlanta 121-114 at home before heading out on the road to beat Utah 121-110 and Phoenix 148-109.
Los Angeles Lakers Form
Los Angeles go into this game looking to win back-to-back games for the first time since the middle of March.
The Lakers blew hot and cold during the first few weeks of the month, with their most recent winning run coming between the 16th and the 19th.
