Houston go into this matchup having won for the ninth time in 11 games when they downed defending champions Boston last night.
The Rockets began this good run at home by beating the Los Angeles Lakers 119-115, and backed that up with a 135-112 victory in Washington.
They then won back-to-back meetings with Memphis, 119-115 and 120-118, before downing Denver 128-108, only to see their run end with a 132-127 defeat in Sacramento.
Houston rebounded to win 125-103 in Portland, but failed to follow it up as they then returned home for a 107-96 loss to Detroit.
The Rockets rallied against Cleveland however, beating the Cavaliers 109-108 at home and 135-131 on the road, before heading to Boston the take down the Celtics, 114-112.
Atlanta Hawks Form
Atlanta return home having snapped a four-game losing sequence with last night's victory in Minnesota.
The Hawks began 2025 by losing four of their first five games, but rallied in the middle of January as they won four times in a five-game spell.
They won 124-121 in Utah, and then responded to a 123-115 loss in Phoenix with three consecutive wins, starting with a 122-117 win at home to the Suns.
Atlanta followed that up on the road with a 110-94 win in Chicago and a 119-115 overtime success in Boston, but their form soon nose-dived, starting with a 119-110 defeat in New York.
The Hawks then returned home for a 114-104 defeat to Detroit and back-to-back losses to Toronto, 122-119 and 117-94, before finally snapping their skid with a 100-92 success in Minnesota.
Verdict
Houston are the better team in better form, and they just sent a message with those wins over the Cavaliers and the Celtics.
Therefore we expect the Rockets to win the second half of this back-to-back, covering in the process.
