Boston went into Wednesday night’s game against the Clippers looking to win back-to-back games for the first time since the start of the month.
The Celtics ended 2024 with a victory, and then started 2025 with successes in Minnesota and Houston.
They failed to keep that run going though and went on an inconsistent run over their next eight games, going 4-4.
Boston began last week with a 110-97 defeat in Toronto, and then failed to follow up a 121-94 victory over Orlando as they lost 119-115 in overtime to Atlanta.
The Celtics started this week in much more promising fashion though, blowing out Golden State, 125-85, on Monday night.
Los Angeles Lakers Form
Los Angeles enter this matchup looking to continue an improved run of form that has seen them win three of their last four games.
The Lakers began 2025 with back-to-back wins, beating Portland 114-106 and Atlanta 119-102 at home, but cooled off to lose the next three.
They lost 119-115 in Houston and 118-97 at Dallas, before returning home for a 126-102 defeat at the hands of San Antonio.
Los Angeles rallied, beating Miami 117-108 and Brooklyn 102-101, but failed to make it three-in-a-row as they lost 116-102 at the LA Clippers.
The Lakers avoided back-to-back defeats however, as they downed Washington, 111-88, on Tuesday night.
