They then backed that up on the road as they won 118-116 in New Orleans, 118-110 at Philadelphia and 112-105 in Cleveland.

Boston’s streak was halted by a 127-120 loss to Dallas, but they rebounded before the All-Star break as they won 131-104 in New York, 103-85 at Miami and 116-103 at home to San Antonio.

The Celtics then picked up from where they left when the season resumed, beating Philadelphia 124-104 and New York 118-105.

Detroit go into this game against the defending champions in excellent form, having won each of their last seven games.

The Pistons dropped back-to-back games in early February, losing 132-130 to Atlanta and 118-115 to Cleveland, but they have rebounded in style.

They kicked off this seven-game win streak with home wins over Philadelphia, 125-112, and Charlotte, 112-102.

Detroit then won back-to-back games in Chicago before the All-Star break, beating the Bulls 132-92 and 128-110.

The Pistons then returned to action with a 125-110 win in San Antonio and a 148-143 victory in Atlanta, before returning home to down the LA Clippers 106-97.
