UFC Fight Night Preview
The main event is a rematch between Alex Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko for the women’s flyweight title.
Shevchenko dominated the division between December 2018 and March 2023, reeling off eight straight victories in flyweight title fights, including stoppage wins against the likes of Jessica Andrade and Lauren Murphy.
Her reign was brought to a stunning halt in March though, as she lost the flyweight crown to Grasso.
Shevchenko appeared to be working her way towards a decision victory when she missed with a spinning kick, gifting Grasso the opportunity to strike.
The Mexican fighter did just that, locking in a choke that gave Shevchenko no option but to tap out and surrender the crown.
‘Bullet’ immediately called for a rematch and she has got her wish, but can she prove that loss to Grasso was nothing more than a fluke, or will Grasso show that victory was no fluke by taking down Shevchenko once again?
