Petr Yan Form
Petr Yan is a former UFC bantamweight champion and the current #3 ranked contender with a career record of 17-5 (7 KOs, 1 Sub).
Yan signed with the UFC in 2018 and quickly made an impression as he reeled off seven straight victories to climb to the top of the bantamweight division.
That run included knockout wins over notable names as he stopped Urijah Faber in the third round and Jose Aldo in the fifth.
The victory over Aldo earned him the vacant bantamweight title, but he failed to make a successful defence as he was disqualified for an illegal knee on Aljamain Sterling in his first outing as champion.
Yan rebounded in his next fight and claimed the interim bantamweight crown with a unanimous decision win over Cory Sandhagen.
‘No Mercy’ failed to turn that into full championship status as he was again beaten by Sterling, this time losing via split decision.
That started a string of three consecutive points losses for the Russian, as he lost a split decision to Sean O’Malley and a unanimous decision to Merab Dvalishvili.
Yan got back to winning ways in March though, as he claimed a unanimous points win over Song Yadong.
Deiveson Figueiredo Form
Deiveson Figueiredo is a former two-time UFC flyweight champion and the #5 ranked contender in the bantamweight division with a record of 24-3-1 (9 KOs, 9 Subs).
Figueiredo made his UFC debut back in the summer of 2017, and catapulted himself into a flyweight title fight by winning six of his first seven fights.
However, a failed weight cut meant he was not crowned champion in February 2020, despite stopping Joseph Benavidez with strikes in the second round.
The two men fought again several months later, and this time Figueiredo made weight and once again stopped Benavidez, via submission, to earn his first UFC title.
Figueiredo’s first defence of the crown saw him submit Alex Perez in the first round, but his next two title fights were not nearly as successfuk.
He went to a majority draw with Brandon Moreno in December 2020 and then lost the belt to Moreno via submission in June 2021.
‘Figgy’ regained the title in the trilogy fight, winning by unanimous decision, only to then lose it straight back to Moreno in their fourth meeting via TKO.
Following that loss the 36-year-old moved up to bantamweight, and he has made an immediate splash with three straight wins.
Figueiredo has sandwiched a second-round submission win over Cody Garbrandt with unanimous decision successes against Rob Font and Marlon Vera.
