Alexander Volkanovski is riding a 20-fight win streak into his second defence of the featherweight title.
Volkanovski propelled himself into title contention when he knocked out Chad Mendes in the second round in December 2018.
He the secured a crack at the gold when he bested the legendary Jose Aldo over three round the following May.
The 33-year-old Australian took his big chance by dethroning Max Holloway via unanimous decision.
Volkanovski then made a successful first defence of his crown against Holloway, this time winning by split decision.
His second successful defence came last September when he once again got the nod from the judges after five rounds, receiving a unanimous decision win over Brian Ortega.
That victory Volkanovski’s UFC record to 10-0 and he is now 23-1 in his professional mixed martial arts career.
The Aussie fighter has 11 KO/TKO wins and three submission wins on his record, while his sole loss came via TKO back in May 2013.
The Korean Zombie Form
The Korean Zombie is looking to make the most of his second chance to become featherweight champion.
A three-fight win streak earned him a shot at the title in 2013, but he came up short on the night as he was knocked out in the fourth round by Jose Aldo.
He put his career on hold after that to complete a mandatory stint in the South Korean army.
Zombie returned to action in February 2017 and showed little signs of rust as he knocked out Dennis Bermudez in less than a minute.
He then looked to be on course for a decision win over Yair Rodriguez until he was flattened by a spectacular elbow strike in the very last second of the fight.
The South Korean fighter rebounded from that loss by knocking out Renato Moicano in less than a minute, and he then needed just 198 seconds to dispatch Frankie Edgar.
Zombie’s run stalleed with a unanimous decision defeat to Brian Ortega, but he again bounced back.
The 35-year-old bested Dan Ige over five rounds in his only outing of 2021.
That victory left The Korean Zombie with a 17-6 professional record, with six wins coming via KO/TKO and three by submission.
Of his six career losses, three have come via strikes and three have been by decision.
Verdict
Alexander Volkanovski throws more strikes and has better accuracy than The Korean Zombie.
Those are two massive factors in a stand-up affair that is likely to go the full five rounds.
