They then moved on to Houston where they were able to sweep the Astros, winning 7-2, 3-1 and 6-3.
San Francisco backed up that series sweep when they hosted Seattle in their home opener, beating the Mariners 10-9, 4-1 and 5-4.
The Giants’ run was finally ended by 2-0 and 1-0 home defeats to Cincinnati, but they rallied in the series finale with an 8-6 success against the Reds.
New York Yankees Form
New York return home looking to build on Wednesday’s road win in Detroit, which ended a three-game skid.
The Yankees kicked off the season at home and made a strong start as they swept Milwaukee with 4-2, 20-9 and 12-3 wins.
They failed to keep that run going as they then dropped back-to-back meetings with Arizona, 7-5 and 4-3, but they did avoid being swept as they took the finale 9-7.
New York followed up that win in Pittsburgh with 9-4 and 10-4 victories, only to miss out on the series sweep as they lost 5-4.
The Yankees then fell to back-to-back defeats in Detroit, losing 6-2 and 5-0, but they once again avoided being swept as they took the last game, 4-3.
Verdict
San Francisco are off to a good start this season and that is tipped to continue here.
Robbie Ray can slow down this Yankees offense, while the bats beat up on struggling Marcus Stroman.
