New York Yankees at Cleveland Guardians Preview & Picks

Can New York take a 3-0 lead in this series?

Check back here on Thursday morning for our free New York Yankees at Cleveland Guardians tips.

Head To Head

  • New York Yankees won the regular season series 4-2
  • New York Yankees lead this MLB playoff series 2-0
  • New York Yankees won 6-3 when the teams last met on October 15

New York Yankees Form

New York head out on the road for the first time in the American League Championship Series boasting a 2-0 lead thanks to a couple of home wins.

The Yankees earned home field advantage for this series and took full advantage in the first couple of games, beating Cleveland 5-2 and 6-3.

Those wins continued a strong run of postseason form that saw them dispatch Kansas City in four games in the Division Series.

New York began their playoff campaign by splitting the first two games of the series with the Royals, winning 6-5 and losing 4-2.

The Yankees rebounded quickly from that defeat though, grinding out 3-2 and 2-1 wins over the Royals to wrap up a 4-1 series win.

Cleveland Guardians Form

Cleveland return home looking to breathe new life in their postseason campaign, having lost the first two games of the American League Championship Series.

The Guardians visited New York for the first two games and suffered 5-2 and 6-3 defeats at the hands of the Yankees.

They now return home looking to steady the ship and force another long series like in the previous round.

Cleveland needed five games to get past Detroit in the Division Series – a series that saw them go 2-1 down after the first three games.

The Guardians forced a Game 5 decider though, winning 5-4 in Detroit, and then completed their comeback with a 7-3 home win in that winner-takes-all clash.
