The Twins enjoyed a six-game win streak earlier this month, which started with a 17-9 victory at home to Colorado.
They then swept Oakland in a four-game series at home, reeling off 6-2, 6-5, 6-2 and 8-7 wins, before taking the win streak to six games with a 7-6 victory against Tampa Bay.
Minnesota’s run was halted by the Rays though, as they lost 3-2 and 7-6, and they then went out on the road to lose 6-5 in Oakland.
The Twins rallied with 10-2 and 3-0 victories though, before bouncing back from a 5-4 defeat in Arizona with 8-3 and 13-6 wins over the Diamondbacks.
Seattle Mariners Form
Seattle enter this series looking to build on Wednesday night’s win in Tampa, which ended a three-game losing skid.
The Mariners were on a roll earlier in June, as they reeled off eight victories in a nine-game spell.
That run was ended by an 8-0 defeat when they visited Cleveland, and they then suffered a 6-3 defeat in the final game against the Guardians.
From there Seattle travelled to Miami where they sandwiched a 9-0 victory over the Marlins with 3-2 and 6-4 defeats.
The Mariners then moved on to Tampa Bay and lost 4-3 and 11-3 to the Rays, before avoiding being swept with a 5-2 victory.
Verdict
Minnesota make for an appealing underdog in this one.
The Twins have a positive record on the road this season and they come into this game in the better form.
