Milwaukee returned home for a three-game series with Texas and were able to sweep the Rangers with 6-3, 3-1 and 6-5 wins.
The Brewers then hosted the Chicago Cubs for three games and sandwiched a 5-3 defeat with 4-2 and 7-1 victories.
Colorado Rockies Form
Colorado enter this series on the back of a victory but in miserable form, having lost 10 of their previous 13 games.
This sequence started at home to Pittsburgh as they suffered an 8-2 defeat in the final game of that series.
They then lost three of their four meetings with the Los Angeles Dodgers, before sandwiching an 8-7 win over Washington with 11-5 and 2-1 defeats to the Nationals.
Colorado then went out on the road and were swept in a two-game series in Houston, losing 5-2 and 7-1.
The Rockies’ losing skid then reached five games with 5-3 and 11-3 defeats at the Chicago White Sox, but they avoided being swept as they took the final meeting 5-4.
Verdict
Neither starting pitcher instils a lot of confidence, but the simple fact is Milwaukee are the better team in better form, so we are backing the Brewers.
