Colorado head to Los Angeles having been swept at the end of last week, dropping their record to 3-12.
The Rockies opened the season by sandwiching a 2-1 victory at Tampa Bay with 3-2 and 6-4 defeats to the Rays.
They were then swept in Philadelphia, losing 6-1, 5-1 and 3-1, before suffering a 6-3 and 4-7 defeats to the Athletic in their opening home series.
Colorado took the final meeting 12-5, only to then suffer back-to-back defeats at the hands of Milwaukee, 7-1 and 17-2.
The Rockies again won the series finale, this time 7-2, but they again failed to build on a victory as they lost 8-0, 2-0 and 6-0 in San Diego.
Los Angeles Dodgers Form
Los Angeles enter this series on a disappointing run of form, having now lost six of their last nine games.
The Dodgers raced out of the blocks with eight straight wins, winning back-to-back games with the Chicago Cubs, 4-1 and 6-3, before returning home to sweep Detroit and Atlanta.
They beat the Tigers 5-4, 8-5 and 7-3, and downed the Braves 6-1, 3-1 and 6-5, before seeing their hot start end as they sandwiched a 3-1 win over Philadelphia with 3-2 and 8-7 losses.
Los Angeles then dropped the first two games of the series in Washington, 6-4 and 8-2, before rallying to take the series finale 6-5.
The Dodgers backed that up with a 3-0 win over Chicago, but they failed to keep their winning run going as they lost 16-0 and 4-2 to the Cubs.
Verdict
Los Angeles failed to maintain their red-hot early form, but they are simply the better team.
