That meant they became the 12th team in the last 25 years to miss the playoffs a year after winning Major League Baseball’s biggest prize.
Texas will look to put that firmly behind this year, and they entered the regular season having gone 14-16 in Spring Training.
However, the Rangers made a losing start to the regular season as they gave up three runs in the last to lose 5-2 to Boston.
Verdict
Boston drew first blood on Thursday night and we are backing them to follow that up.
Tanner Houck is a solid and experienced starter, while his opposite number Jack Leiter is yet to win as a starter in the pros and gave up a bunch of runs in his rookie year.
