Atlanta head to New York in miserabel form, having now lost four of their five games following the All-Star break.
The Braves enjoyed a four-game win streak in early July and went into the mi-season pause having won two of their three games in San Diego.
They opened that series with a 6-1 victory, and then responded to a 4-0 loss with a 6-3 win over the Padres.
Atlanta the made a winning return to action last weekend as they beat St Louis 3-2 at home, but they failed to follow that up.
The Braves lost the next two meetings 9-5 and 6-2, and that skid reached four-in-a-row when they were beaten 4-1 and 9-4 by Cincinnati.
New York Mets Form
New York enter this series on a good run of form, having won four of their five games since the season resumed.
The Yankees put together seven wins in an eight-game spell earlier this month – a run that included a five-game win streak.
They went into the All-Star break on the back of a loss though, falling to an 8-5 defeat at home to Colorado that denied them a series sweep.
New York then lost their first game back in Miami, 6-4, before sandwiching a 4-2 defeat to the Marlins with 1-0 and 6-4 victories.
The Mets then completed a regular season sweep of the New York Yankees, winning 3-2 and 3-0 at Yankee Stadium to go 4-0 against their ‘Big Apple’ rivals this season.
Verdict
Chris Sale was pushed back to this matchup following last night's cancellation and that is a boost for Atlanta.
The Braves starter has piled up a bunch of wins, so we expect the visitors to end their losing run here.
